Two New ‘Project X’ Clips

Two new clips have been released online of the upcoming found footage party movie Project X. Project X centres on three high schoolers who throw a birthday party in an attempt to make a name for themselves but the party doesn’t go as smoothly as planned as word of the party spreads. Project X stars Thomas Mann, Oliver Cooper and Jonathan Daniel Brown who are all pretty unknown actors. I’m not sure what I think about this film, it is one of these films that could either be amazing or amazingly shit. Project X hits theatres on 2nd March 2012 (UK+USA) and you can check out the two clips below.

New ‘Hunger Games’ Trailer

A new trailer has been released online for the upcoming number one best selling book adaptation The Hunger Games. Set in a not so distant future where a boy and girl are selected from different districts to fight for their lives on national television. The Hunger Games stars Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson and Woody Harrelson; I am personally not looking forward to this, I think it will be another Twilight style film series and I don’t want that. I also think the concept of it is ridiculous and from the trailer it looks as though most of it will be setting up for the other films. The Hunger Games is set for a 23rd March 2012 (UK+USA) release; you can check out the trailer below.
What do you think? Are you just as unexcited as me? Feel free to comment below. Thanks for reading.

‘Friends With Kids’ Review

Friends With Kids centres on group of 2 couples with kids and two best friends that decide to have a child together as they both haven’t met “the one”. Friends With Kids stars a lot of the same actors/actresses as Bridesmaids, starring: Kristin Wiig, Chris O’Dowd, Maya Rudolf and Josh Hamm. I really like Chris O’Dowd as I am a huge fan of The IT Crowd (A UK comedy which is defiantly worth checking out if you haven’t seen it yet) and I am really glad to see him in a lot more movies.

The acting in this film is exactly what you would expect from a rom com with the big names not taking the front role leaving the spotlight for Adam Scott an Jennifer Westfeldt. Kristin Wiig is brilliant in this as she always is, its just a shame she didn’t have a big role to play.

While watching this I couldn’t get past the feeling that it felt just like a sitcom which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. This film has some laugh out loud moments but when it comes to drama moments I feel as though it is seriously lacking, I would have much preferred it if they stuck to comedy.

Jennifer Westfeldt did a much better job of directing, writing and producing than starring in it. She could have easily cut off at least 15 minutes of the film as when it hits the one hour, twenty minutes it starts to get a bit tiring and boring as you sit there waiting for the inevitable ending.

This movie will probably be loved by millions of women and it does what it was made to do by supplying a few laughs intertwined with a love story. This films biggest flaw is that it is just too long and begins to lag quite badly towards the end and it leaves you wishing it would just hurry up and get to the ending. I would say this is a DVD rental buy not a cinema experience; if you get dragged to it by your girlfriend don’t worry you will still get a few laughs out of it.

Friends With Kids hits cinemas 9th March (USA) with no UK release date.

Trailer For Adrien Brody’s New Film ‘Detachment’

Apple have released a trailer for Adrien Brody’s new film Detachment; it is story following the lives of high school teachers and students seen from the perspective of a substitute teacher (Adrien Brody) I think that this film looks really interesting and could be a great drama; I do really like Adrien Brody, his performances are always phenomenal and never disappointing so I can’t wait to see this one. Detachment also stars James Caan, Christina Hendricks and Bryan Cranston; it is set for a 16th March (USA) limited release so I will have to wait for a DVD release for this one (because I live in the UK).
